Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm

Event: The Spiritual Significance of Relationship

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen

While most of us are familiar with the benefits of relationship — intimacy, companionship, support, etc. — we don’t always recognize the spiritual significance of our relationships, whether they are romantic, friendship, or business relationships.

Acknowledging and honoring the opportunities for spiritual growth that are available in all relationships can open up a new way for us to engage with one another. Join me as we explore Pathwork Lecture 180: The Spiritual Significance of Human Relationship. What better way to dive into this topic than together, in relationship?

The presentation will be followed by a potluck dinner, so if you are staying for the meal please bring a dish to share.

The Sacred Dimensions of the Pathwork workshop series

Date: Thursday, Jan. 11th – Sunday, Jan. 14th, 2018

Event: From Being Guided by Ego to Dancing in the Mystery

Location: Sevenoaks Retreat Center, Madison, Va.

I’m excited to announce that I have the honor of assisting Erena Bramos in this powerful workshop exploring the Sacred Dimensions of the Pathwork. I’d love to have you join us!

From Erena:

In this module we will be exploring the two distinct pulls that underlie most of our conscious experiences… the pull of the longing to be in oneness with the Divine on one hand, and the pull of the demands of being an embodied entity on the other.

Please join us as we come together to question how we can surrender to the unavoidable reality that these two forces will always coexist as long as we are alive, and how, honoring the wisdom of both, we can come out of the struggle of seeking perfection to live our lives in forgiveness of our humanness.

Event: What is Your Relationship with Relationship?

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen, Va.

“The greatest struggle for human beings is between their desire to overcome isolation and loneliness and  their simultaneous fear of close, intimate contact with another human being. Often the desire and fear are equally strong, so that people are pulled and pushed in opposite directions.”  ~ Pathwork Lecture 138

  • Do you avoid intimacy and deep connection?
  • Do you dive in head first without testing the waters?
  • Maybe you alternate between the two?

In order to deeply meet another, we must deeply meet ourselves. In order to be loved, we have to be willing to be seen in our entirety. If you are interested in a more fulfilling relationship with yourself, others, and Life in general, you are warmly invited to join me as we explore this challenging and yet deeply rewarding endeavor. We will be working with Pathwork Lecture 138: The Human Predicament of Desire for and Fear of Closeness.

All are welcome, and you are not required to read the Lecture ahead of time, but you will get more out of the evening if you do. We will follow the presentation with a potluck dinner and socializing. There is no fee for this event but please bring a dish to share if you will be staying for dinner.

Sunday, June 25th, 2017 FREE Event!

Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm

Event: The Pitfalls of Perfectionism

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen, Va.

Perfectionism isn’t always defined by how clean your house is, how fashionable your clothes are, or how fit your body is. Sometimes perfectionism shows up in just wanting to be more than we are at the moment, and we may project a false image of ourselves to others in order to be more acceptable.

Have you ever found yourself wanting to be more loving, charming or serene?

Maybe you wish you were less needy, selfish, or vulnerable?

Especially if you haven’t reached perfection yet, you are invited to join me for an evening exploring the pitfalls of perfectionism, and discover how we can relax into exactly who we are in this moment, and be perfectly lovable, warts and all.

We’ll be working with Pathwork Lecture 97: Perfectionism Obstructs Happiness. You aren’t required to read the Lecture ahead of time, but you’ll get more out of the evening if you do.

Following the presentation we’ll share a potluck dinner and fellowship. This is a free event, but if you are staying for the meal please bring a dish to share.

Come out for the evening and discover the profound wisdom of the Pathwork Lectures! I look forward to sharing the evening with you!

Event: Shining in the Shadows: Mining the Treasure of Your Inner Landscape

Love. Courage. Wisdom.

This is your divine essence, who you really are beneath all the layers of mask, pretense, and defense.

Easy to say, but can you feel the truth of that? Or somewhere along the bumpy, twisting road of Life have you lost connection with your Real Self?

Instead, does your journey feel filled with dead ends, wrong turns, painful mishaps? Do you long for more purpose and meaning in your days? Would you like to share that most sacred and precious journey with kindred spirits?

I believe we are all continuously being called back home to our original brilliance. We are called to live life aligned with our integrity and our true power. We are here to discover and transform whatever stands in the way, and to offer our gifts to the world.

To do this we must embark on a journey below the surface of our consciousness, into the shadows of our psyche where the treasure that we are lies buried and waiting for re-discovery.

This is the place inside you that has never been wounded, broken, or tainted regardless of your life circumstances.

It’s there, shining in the shadows. Waiting for you to embrace what -on some level- you have known all along.

And for all those adventurous souls who would dare to say, “Yes!” to that calling, I’m excited to announce that beginning June 25th, 2017 I am forming an online Pathwork group, together with Sucheta Jain, where we can navigate this inner landscape in the company of kindred spirits.

We’ll create an intimate container that will support and challenge us as we experience how the Pathwork teachings can help us peel back the layers of distortion, defense, and misconception to reveal our divine essence.   Learn more about this dynamic offering  here.

Sunday, May 21st, 2017 FREE event!

Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm

Event: The Rebel and the Rule Follower

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen, Va.

Our experience with authority as children, and the strategies we develop to cope with those authorities, are often still alive in our unconscious, influencing our perception of and reaction to our current authority figures, bosses, intimate relationships, and life in general. Ultimately, this can also impact our relationship with and willingness to surrender to God.

Are you a Rebel? A Rule Follower? A little of both?

I’d love to have you join me for this month’s “A Taste of Pathwork” presentation as we explore Lecture 46: Authority.

Discover how you can learn to tap into your true authority within, and from that place engage in meaningful relationship with others.

You aren’t required to read the Lecture ahead of time, but you will get more out of the evening if you do. After the presentation we will share a potluck dinner, so please bring a dish if you will be joining us for the meal. I look forward to sharing the evening with you!

Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 FREE event!

Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm

Event: What is the Pathwork and How Can I Deepen in My Spiritual Journey?

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen, Va.

The Pathwork is a powerful body of spiritual teachings channeled by a woman named Eva Pierrakos. They remind us that our ultimate goal on the spiritual path is Surrender…. surrender to our imperfection, to acknowledging the truth of our current thoughts, feelings, and actions, to the illusion of control, and to a higher presence that guides us all.

We begin by viewing our lives through the perspective that every experience in our lives can be part of our spiritual practice, an opportunity to awaken to the ways in which we resist surrender, defend against acceptance of what is, and the many ways we block the Divine.

The Pathwork is for those who are ready for a deeper engagement on the spiritual journey, and are willing to practice self-responsibility, honesty, a willingness to let go of everything you think you know to be open to what wants to be revealed in your life.

If this sounds like you, you are invited to join Beth Hedquist for an evening of meditation, discussion, and exploration of Pathwork Lecture 204: What is the Path? You are not required to read the Lecture ahead of time, but you will get more out of the evening if you do.

We will follow up the presentation with a potluck dinner, and while this is a free event, if you choose to share a meal with us please bring a dish.

Event: Bridging The Divide: A Shared Journey to Reveal our Fundamental Unity

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen, Va.

Cost: $30 per evening

Registration Deadline: Feb. 21st or when group fills

We are all brothers and sisters on a spiritual journey that we cannot walk alone. As we learn to recognize and release our fear, negativity, masks and defenses, we gain the courage and clarity to reach the heart of the other, and real mutuality becomes possible.

Together we can become the change we want to see in the world!

Through discussion, experiential exercises, meditation and movement we will explore the conscious and unconscious ways we obstruct this meeting of the heart. We will create a sacred space of intimacy that will support and reveal our common humanity and underlying divinity.  I would love to have you join us!

Sunday, Jan. 15th, 2017 FREE Event!

Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm

Event: Shining A Light In the Darkness: An Exploration of Evil

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen, Va.

In the face of cruelty, violence, and suffering, we often turn to religion and spirituality to gain insight into the origin of and the solution to evil.

  • Just what is evil?
  • Why is their such suffering in the world?
  • How can we respond to the pain we see inflicted — in our relationships, our community, and our world?

In today’s turbulent times, we need more than existential musings over these concepts. We need a practical, real world approach to the challenges we face today.

You are invited to join Beth Hedquist for an intriguing exploration of evil based on the Pathwork teachings, and discover how you can courageously and compassionately shine your light on any darkness you may encounter.

We’ll be working with Pathwork Lecture 134: The Concept of Evil. It is not required that you read the Lecture ahead of time but you will get more out of the evening if you do.

After the presentation, stick around and enjoy a potluck dinner with us! There is no charge for this event, but if you will be staying for dinner please bring a dish to share.

abyssofillusion

Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm “A  Taste of Pathwork”

Event: The Freedom Of Imperfection

Location: 5028 Park Commons Loop, Glen Allen, Va.

We expend so much energy trying to be perfect, expecting others to be just as perfect, and assuming life should reflect our vision of Utopia.

How would it feel to let all that go? Can you imagine floating through life, beautifully held and supported by a perfectly imperfect Universe? Or does that kind of surrender feel like death?

I invite you to join me for this month’s “A Taste of Pathwork” potluck dinner presentation as we explore Pathwork Lecture 60: The Abyss of Illusion: Freedom and Self-Responsibility. The Pathwork is a practical, contemporary spiritual teaching offering tools and practices designed to help create a life of freedom through taking responsibility for our amazing potential as well as our real human limitations. It is not required that you read the Lecture ahead of time, but you’ll get more out of the evening if you do.

We’ll follow up the presentation with a potluck dinner, and while there is no charge for this event, please bring a dish to share if you will be staying for the meal.

RSVP to Beth at: bethhedquist@gmail.com.
